We provide a variety of training for our caregivers throughout the year. PCS Regulations mandate that all caregivers receive a minimum of 12 hours training per year. Efforts are made to ensure that all caregiver employees remain in compliance with training mandates.
Within 3 months of hire date, active caregivers are provided the following training:
*CPR & FIRST AID
*Employee Handbook Policy
*Caregiver Assessment (Must pass with 80% or greater)
*Overview of the PCS Program
*Living With a Disability In The Community
In the New Hire Orientation class, we conduct a caregiver assessment pre-test. Each caregiver must pass this 22-question, multiple choice test with a grade of 80%. We then review our company Employee Handbook, Powerpoint presentations reviewing the PCS Program, and Living With A Disability In The Community. New Hire Orientation takes appoximately 2 hours to complete.
Each quarter, 4 hours of in-service training is provided to all caregivers. This training covers various topics that are relative to the job duties that caregivers perform. Some of these topics are:
*Professional Image
*Infection Control
*Body Mechanics
*Preventing Falls
*Incident Reporting
*Worker's Compensation Laws
*Promoting Dignity
*Managing Stress
*Resident & Client Rights

*Preventing Accidents & Injuries
*Alzheimer's & Dementia
Many more topics are covered in training and vary from year to year. Some topics are repeated yearly since it may be important to stress concerns that we have as an agency.
CPR & First Aid trainings are held as needed, and at least once quarterly. CPR is required within the first 90 days of employment, Training is conducted in the office. Thereafter, caregivers are recertified in CPR training every two years.
